Consol experiment by BIVAK Studio

Consol Experiment is a temporary concrete cantilever structure created by BIVAK Studio for the Field of Sparks Artweek in Ipolytarnóc, Hungary. Conceived as a site-specific architectural intervention, the project explores the material and spatial limits of concrete through a seemingly weightless gesture embedded in the natural landscape. The cantilever does not function as a conventional building element, but rather as an experimental object— one that invites bodily presence, observation, and reflection on balance, gravity, and construction.

The project was realized within the framework of Field of Sparks, a genre-defining socio-art platform that brings together architects, artists, and local communities to rethink rural environments in Central and Eastern Europe. As part of an intensive, collaborative building process, Consol Experiment emerged through shared knowledge, hands-on experimentation, and dialogue across disciplines. The structure became both a physical and symbolic focal point of the event, blurring the boundaries between architecture, land art, and performative space.

Consol Experiment stands as a reflection on contemporary architectural practice beyond permanent construction. Positioned between object, landscape, and collective action, the project questions how temporary structures can generate meaning, activate place, and foster collaboration. Within the context of Field of Sparks, the cantilever becomes not only an architectural experiment, but a shared cultural gesture—one that connects material exploration with community-driven creation.

The project highlights the potential of temporary architectural interventions to act as catalysts for dialogue between design, landscape, and community.
